CAD Designer Sheet Metal Manufacturing

Location: Kennesaw, GA Our client is a leading manufacturer of drive-thru menu boards, awnings, canopies, and interior signage for the restaurant industry. Known for a close-knit, family-style environment, we're seeking a detail-oriented CAD Designer to join our team and contribute to the full lifecycle of our custom product designsfrom sketch to install.

Role Overview

As a CAD Designer, you'll operate SolidWorks and AutoCAD to support multiple departments with high-quality technical drawings and layouts. You'll create and revise production drawings, ensuring all views and dimensions required for accurate manufacturing are clearly documented. This role involves basic design decisions while escalating complex questions to leadership. You'll work within a three-person design pod alongside sales and field operations, all collaborating to deliver tailored solutions to clients.

Responsibilities

Create and revise detailed production and assembly drawings using SolidWorks/AutoCAD
Draft multi-view layouts of custom products, including dimensions and technical specifications
Collaborate with sales, operations, and manufacturing teams to clarify designs and address revision needs
Utilize knowledge of sheet metal machinery, design principles, and architectural drawings
Apply mathematical calculations and material specifications to ensure drawing accuracy

Required Skills & Experience

15+ years CAD experience (SolidWorks required)
15 years working in a sheet metal manufacturing environment
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of drafting techniques and design terminology
Ability to interpret architectural drawings and apply technical design practices
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and general computer proficiency
