Bakery Lead

At Nothing Bundt Cakes, the Bakery Manager/Lead Operator is responsible for guiding the team and overseeing the bakery's day-to-day functions, encompassing guest interactions, cake creation, brand image, workplace ambiance, and financial success. The focus is on enhancing revenue and profitability, all the while upholding exceptional quality of products, customer care, and team morale. Acting as a cultural influencer, the Bakery Manager embodies Nothing Bundt Cakes' core principles and instigates joy within the bakery as well as in the neighboring area.

Accountabilities / Duties:

Team Leadership:

• Puts a strong focus on enhancing customer experience, sets a high standard for engagement, and promotes a supportive team atmosphere.
• Selects, educates, and enhances employees, effectively conveying performance goals.
• Consistently interacts with the team to gauge advancement, deliver feedback, and tackle issues promptly.
• Offers consistent coaching, performs quarterly assessments of performance, and takes quick action to address any performance deficiencies.
• Transfer duties to the Assistant Manager to guarantee seamless daily functions.
• Discovers and supports potential leaders by providing cross-functional training and avenues for professional growth.
• Ensures familiarity with all bakery processes and offers help when necessary to drive efficiency.

Business Operations:

• Responsible for supervising the bakery's opening and closing tasks, such as handling cash accurately and making bank deposits promptly.
• Oversees unique orders for patrons, companies, and expansive functions to guarantee a seamless experience.
• Assigns weekly sales objectives, production schedules, and staffing arrangements in accordance with the latest business trends.
• Manages stock levels, arranges for procurement of supplies, and carries out routine assessments for inventory accuracy.
• Upholds adherence to NbC operational policies, health standards, and food safety regulations without fail.
• Maintains control over variable expenses like workforce, resources, and repairs to enhance profitability.
• Executes administrative functions like managing payroll, preparing reports, and engaging in elementary accounting duties.

Local Marketing:

• Spearheads efforts in community engagement to boost brand visibility and foster relationships with local stakeholders.
• Manages bakery participation in events, sponsorships, and partnerships that resonate with NbC's principles.
• Endorses grassroots marketing efforts to boost visits and foster connections with the local community.

Genuine Connections:

• Establishes significant relationships with patrons, colleagues, and the neighborhood.
• Engages in honest interactions and nurtures a friendly, inviting bakery environment.
• Acts as a passionate and optimistic representative for Nothing Bundt Cakes, showcasing a deep commitment to the brand.

Proficiency, talents, and aptitudes play a crucial role:

• Solid grasp of retail arithmetic, principles of profit and loss, and essential drivers of success.
• Competence in examining financial data to devise effective strategies for progress.
• Exceptional leadership qualities along with strong interpersonal and communication skills, including proficiency in both verbal and written forms.
• Established capability in distributing work, arranging, and supervising numerous tasks competently.
• Skilled in addressing operational challenges with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
• Showing a keen ability to quickly grasp new information and a deep enthusiasm for ongoing development and superior performance.

Educational background, qualifications, and practical expertise:

• It is mandatory to have a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for additional education beyond this level.
• Possess 1 to 3 years of experience in leading teams within the retail, hospitality, or food sectors.
• Established track record of effectively leading teams, meeting financial targets, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Familiarity with arranging appointments, overseeing product quantities, and monitoring financial outlays.
• The candidate must have a food safety certification or be eligible to obtain it within 30 days of starting the job.
• Skillful in utilizing Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook) and openness to mastering different technological interfaces.

Being able to work at varied times like mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential to accommodate the needs of the business.
