Senior Electrical Engineer
About the Role We are seeking a senior electrical engineer who is passionate about delivering projects that power the core of advanced industrial operations. This role provides the opportunity to work on state-of-the-art facilities, including semiconductor cleanrooms, laboratories, and other high-tech manufacturing environments. As a senior engineer, you will lead electrical design efforts, oversee designer work, and serve as a technical resource to the project team. You'll also provide quality reviews, support complex design challenges, and collaborate directly with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams throughout project execution. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the design of facility power distribution systems, grounding, lighting, and low-voltage communication systems.
- Prepare construction drawings, technical specifications, and bid packages.
- Oversee designer work and perform technical quality reviews of electrical design packages.
- Conduct electrical calculations including voltage drop, arc flash, short circuit current, and load flow using SKM PTW, EasyPower, or similar tools.
- Review vendor submittals for compliance with client specifications.
- Provide field support including site walks, subcontractor interaction, and construction punch services.
- Participate in project meetings, proposals, and provide innovative solutions to client needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or higher in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energy Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license with the ability to obtain Idaho registration.
- Minimum 10 years of electrical design experience in building and industrial facilities.
- Strong working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC).
- Experience with engineering practices for selecting and specifying electrical equipment.
- Field experience working with contractors and construction personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with semiconductor tools or data center/mission critical facilities.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM software.
- Minimum of 2 years working with complex semiconductor or cleanroom equipment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
Position Details
- Assignment Term: 6 months contract-to-hire
- Work Environment: On-site at an active industrial client facility (Boise, ID). Remote work is not available.
- Hours: 40 hours per week, standard business hours.
- Travel: Minimal, limited to field walks at client sites.
- Work Attire: Business casual.
- Background Check: Required post-offer.
- Drug Screen: Not required.
Compensation
- Pay Range: $48.22/hr $73.08/hr (depending on experience).
- Overtime: Minimal, billed at 1.4x rate.
Conversion
This role is structured as contract-to-hire with intent to bring on full-time based on performance.
