Traffic Engineer

Traffic Engineer Opportunity

Selectek has an immediate need to hire a Traffic Engineer in the Tysons, VA area.

Responsibilities:

• Planning and project management involving transportation design projects.
• Lead the preparation of traffic design projects: Including traffic signal, lighting, maintenance of traffic, detour, pavement marking and signing projects.
• Preparation of technical documents to include traffic analysis studies, site access, and circulation evaluation studies.
• Signal warrant, design exception/waiver documentation and proposal preparation.
• Attending, participating, leading project meetings.
• Working with traffic engineering and transportation planning initiatives with other offices.

Requirements:

• The ideal candidate will have a mix of knowledge, skills and experience including project management, public presentation, analytical and organizational skills.
• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Professional Engineer or able to obtain within 1yr of employment.
• 6 years of work experience in transportation engineering, traffic studies, and/or civil engineering.
• AutoCAD Software and/or Microstation knowledge and experience.
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred:

• Knowledge of Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD)
• Traffic Design is a PLUS!

Pay Rate:

$43.00 - $50.00/hr

6-month temp to perm
