Quality Assurance Engineer

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will establish, implement, maintain, and enforce quality system processes that support products in a production environment. As needed, measure, analyze, and improve quality system performance consistent with organization quality goals, integrate quality system applications between engineering, manufacturing, and operations to ensure the consistent and ongoing use of quality best practices and communication of quality issues, and facilitate troubleshooting of quality issues with teams, lead causal analysis activities to drive to root cause and corrective action.

In addition, you will perform reviews and approve manufacturing build documents including work orders and nonconformance records. You will perform periodic audits of the application of our quality system in accordance with AS9100, recommend initiatives and/or changes that will improve product and system quality, and provide quality assurance subject matter expertise to inspection, manufacturing and test. Periodically, you will interface with internal and external customers on quality related concerns and develop training materials to build quality awareness.

As part of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers, you will share in the team's impact on all aspects of developing, testing and launching Space systems to support Blue Origin's Vision.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Nonconformance processing/reviews/validations
• Work Order reviews/closures
• Processing Scrap material
• Process Surveillance
• Interaction with government customers, i.e. DCMA, Space Force, NASA

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of a B.S. in engineering
• Quality assurance experience in production environment. Aerospace, space launch, military/commercial aviation preferred
• Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9001 Quality Management System and/or related quality systems and programs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of subassembly and final assembly of aerospace hardware.
• Knowledge of Weld and NDT practices
• Precision Measurement Science fundamentals
• Proficient in the fundamentals of GD&T.
• Quality performance measurement analysis capabilities
• RC/CA fundamentals
• Quality assurance experience in rocket engine production environment
• Quality Management System audit experience
• Six Sigma Green, Black Belt, or comparable certification
• Material Review Board experience

• Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
